Limestone is a common type of sedimentary rock which I find uncommonly interesting! It’s mostly calcium carbonate, which is also what eggshells 🥚, seashells 🐚, and pearls 🦪 are made out of.
In places where it rains a lot, limestone erodes easily, which results in simply gorgeous landscapes such as:
Hạ Long Bay in Vietnam
Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park in Madagascar
The Li River in China
Additionally, the world’s longest (Mammoth) and deepest (Veryovkina Krubera is once again the world’s deepest cave, thank you to SockOlm for pointing that out) cave systems are both found in limestone formations

Just a PSA for any of you who might not be as active in Tracha:
We’ve sort of moved rooms (yes, again)! If you were already in the entire space, you may remember the aux room. That is now the main room, and the old main room is no longer being used. It’s still up, you can still access it, but messages can no longer be sent, and it is no longer in the Tracha space. You aren’t required to join that space (although it also has a room for vents and an activities room, the latter of which is pretty fun and the former of which separates triggering content from the main room), and this isn’t something that immediately requires your attention, but I would certainly make sure you at least join the new main room (again, if you were already in the aux room, you’re all set). The link to the new room is already in the old main room, so it’s a quick and easy switch! I hope to see you there
Glomming on to this to ask if anyone has had success getting push notifications using fluffychat on grapheneOS? The ntfy solution people discuss online has never worked for me and it’s hard to keep up without notifications
I have not
I tried it once, and I got the notifications to send, but I think the issue was that they would only send when I had FluffyChat open. I’m honestly willing to give it another shot at some point to try and figure it out, because it would help and I really don’t want to have to install sandboxed google play. I have been wanting notifications more and more, especially for my DMs, so I’m hoping I can get nfty to work or I might just cave and install google play services (at least it’s sandboxed and has limited permissions).

I think I’ve gotten it working btw (although I stopped using it because I don’t like having notifications I’ve found), but it does work. I’ll try going through the process again later and providing steps (maybe I should finally start working on that “how to matrix” guide in general, I’ve wanted to make it easier for people to get into since I hate discord with a passion.
Edit: So I installed ntfy from fdroid (via obtanium), and I had to set it’s battery optimization to unrestricted so that it could run in the background unhindered (open the app, make sure it has network perms, allow notifications). From there, open fluffychat and it should auto-detect ntfy. With that, it’ll start sending notifications! Honestly a great solution for running notifications on apps that support it, I know Element X does as well as so does Molly (signal fork). I’ll certainly add this to “the guide” once I get around to making it.
Of course, if you haven’t joined tracha, or haven’t heard of it, I highly recommend it! I think it is quite the wonderful space, and I’ve built some truly wonderful friendships there. It’s on matrix, so if you already have an account all you have to do is join! If you don’t and think/know you might struggle with creation, send me a DM and I would be happy to help

If you have any concerns about tracha, let me know! I can’t guarantee changes will be made, but I can at least bring them into frame for discussion. I want to make sure tracha works for as many people as possible, and I know how chatrooms can be, trust me when I say it took a while for me to finally start participating more (although lurkers are absolutely welcome too, I still fall back to my roots sometimes). Tracha can and has changed. It started as a single room, and after a vote and feedback from users, it was made into with multiple rooms, which greatly improved the experience for many people. Tracha is also still very usable with just the main chat, for those who don’t want to join the other rooms.
