As big law firms bend the knee to Donald Trump, another target of his executive orders is fighting back.
On Friday, Susman Godfrey—which won a successful $787 million lawsuit against Fox News over the network’s airing of 2020 election conspiracies—filed a suit against a Trump executive order it says was meant to “exact revenge.”
“No administration should be allowed to punish lawyers for simply doing their jobs, protecting Americans and their constitutional right to the legal process,” Susman Godfrey said in a statement.
Glad to see at least one Law Firm is stepping up.
It’s insane that it’s the only one. Only a handful of companies and politicians are doing it.
There will be more, but most of them are too cowardly to be the first. Trump’s supporters literally tried to hang Pence, but I don’t think they’d try to hang 20+ Republicans if they made a joint statement.
They’re in a cult. I can see them doing that to whoever stands up.
The ACLU is also fighting back with lawsuits. There are people out there fighting, it just doesn’t always make headlines
This is what we have to remember. The loudest voices are often the weakest, and the news is more useful than it is real.
It’s not like they got options. Trump will crush them if they don’t fight now
