Trying not to binge, but the first episode (Common People) was amazing.

Its Cory Doctorow’s enshitification meets Repo Man’s Big Hospital. So fucking on-point and brilliant.

Went through something similar myself with insurance lmao. I was like “Oh okay we’re just copying straight from reality and showing what disabled people go through in a for-profit healthcare system.”

Isnt that basically every episode? Its like horror distopia satire that points out the flaws in our current society, with a bit of extrapolation

Didn’t used to think the horror stories of the multi layers of insurance fuckery that went on were as bad as they turned out to be. Holy hell it was worse than I could imagine.

Every episode from this series is a fucking banger. Only episode I’ve watched is EP 4 earlier today. I watch it randomly since its completely episodic

Looking forward to USS calister part 2, followups? In this economy???

wot if yer brain was wifi m8

but yeah I did like that episode, though some of the writing was a little too on the nose. I think a better ending would have been if Rivermind failed as a startup and all of its customers just died. the cam site stuff was fucking depressing and too real

If black mirror is depressing and too real, they’re doing things perfect.

I really, really liked the ending

for sure, I thought the cam stuff was the best part of the episode

but the ending was dumb. couldn’t they have just cancelled the subscription, effectively killing her? that would be a lot less painful without making the husband guilty of murder lmao. the episode had good ideas but a first draft-ass script

I’m halfway through the season. It’s awesome so far. It feels like these episodes were always meant to be part of the series.

The first one is a scary technological concept rooted in reality enough to be plausible. It’s not just about technology but about evil corporations.

The second one is a scary concept that seems to be inspired by the Mandela effect (it even mentions the Mandela effect) but not really plausible, feels more like a supernatural episode. Kinda Twilight Zoney.

The third one is another somewhat plausible scary technology concept. It is an exciting episode with twists and turns and romance. It also reminds me of holodeck malfunction episodes in Star Trek

Just saw the third tonight. I usually hate romance, but damn that was good

Guess I’m just a sucker for gay things

I watched episode 2 a day or two ago, and it definitely reached that point where sufficiently-advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, which made it feel a little bit cheaper than other episodes. I’m 17 minutes into episode 1 right now, and I have a pretty good idea of where it’s going.
