I also googled the artist - Marc Lipp. I hoped I could find an interview or at least a quote by him about the painting. But I found nada.
The bison itself is interesting and obviously drawing from Cubism. Pallette knife painting can be pretty challenging to do. Where it loses me is everything else. It needed to go all-in on the Cubism and knife work, including the background. The brushstrokes really distract from the work done on the bison and makes the painting look unfinished.
