I used to work for a very large bank and the amount of times I couldn’t open an account because of Chex systems makes me fear for the poor people in America.
This is a pure attack on unfortunate.
Yeah, I don’t trust the feds with any of my account details for anything. They can fuck right off with that.
It’s not like Elon Musk already illegally withdrew $5000 from some guy’s bank account on a whim, or anything.
Wait it’s even worse. They marked him as dead. He can’t access anything, bank, credit, Medicare, social security. He’s still dead in the system so he’s not getting any of his benefits.
Yeah for sure, like not everyone has a bank account, and many of them probably really need social security….
sounds like empathy, that’s not allowed anymore
:(
I’m not cut out for this world
You are here!
In terms of dystopias, i would put us solidly at a Ray Bradbury. Currently on The Pedestrian, but working our way up to Fahrenheit 451.
So, forcing people to pay bank fees on money they are owed. Putting additional barriers to access. Introducing vulnerability to online banking risks that older people aren’t aware of, so they get scammed harder. Someone needs to sue claiming that making a bank account is against their religious beliefs.
Technically usury is in a few major religions.
Only rich people have rights.
Yeah, in the USA, religious beliefs are held in more importance than the right to access basic survival resources.
Also, the post office is still issuing money order checks, so it isn’t like the government is getting out of the check business altogether. It is still a source of revenue for them.
The next EO will be declaring access to a digital bank account and the internet a basic right. Right?
