The Data Protection Commission (DPC) has today announced the commencement of an inquiry into the processing of personal data comprised in publicly-accessible posts posted on the ‘X’ social media platform by EU/EEA users, for the purposes of training generative artificial intelligence models, in particular the Grok Large Language Models (LLMs).

The Data Protection Commission (DPC) has today announced the commencement of an inquiry into the processing of personal data comprised in publicly-accessible posts posted on the ‘X’ social media platform by EU/EEA users, for the purposes of training generative artificial intelligence models, in particular the Grok Large Language Models (LLMs). The Inquiry will examine compliance with a range of key provisions of the GDPR, including with regard to the lawfulness and transparency of the processing.

      Doing the rounds now as well by Irish Media i.e. RTE & Examiner!

      My approval for my account to be scrapped has been disabled since last year. Have you that setting turned off?

      It will be interesting to find out, if the platform is honouring that setting. My account is protected and my last post on the platform was 2 Feb and a reply on 28th March.

      Didn’t know of change in the international name: -
