honestly i don’t know how well will switch 2 do. on one hand they probably know their business and have learned from the failure of wii u on the other hand it’s nintendo and the console business model is simply not as profitable as it was (hence the price increase on games).
the more interesting aspect is when will steam deck 2 come out and how successfully it can eat switch’s lunch. before steam deck handheld gaming was almost exclusive to switch but now with steam deck and rog ally and whatnot that’s one of the primary demographics of switch (the other one is children) potentially moving away completely. we’ll have to wait and see.
I feel like people on the fence between switch and steam deck isn’t actually that big of a market. The two people I know who own a steam deck also own a switch.

Don’t expect a Deck 2 anytime soon. Valve has already said it would take a significant leap in technology for them to even start on it.
