Correct if I am wrong, but Assexual people do not like sex but enjoy deep relationships (romance) with other people, right?
As a gay man can someone tell me why straight people not wanting to get laid has ANYTHING TO DO WITH ME?! I’m so grateful to have organisations like LGB Alliance in 2025 to push back against this nonsense, it’s glorious to see them grow bigger & louder each year…
Are these people braindead? You can be homosexual and assexual at the same time, do this people think that sex = love? Do they think you need to love someone to have sex with them?
I doubt any actual gay people support the LGB Alliance, a shitty fake organization that only exists for transphobic purposes. Extremely strong “as a black man” energy from that post.
Honestly, to be real with you, some lesbian, gay, and bisexual people are just very shitty, as no particular identity makes someone unable to be shitty. LGBT people are human, and humans, be they LGBT or not, can have awful, reactionary takes on things. I’ve dealt with a lot of discrimination from other LGBT people, not just on the basis of being the “wrong type of queer,” but on the basis of race and other things too.
I don’t doubt that many of the “LGB Alliance” people are just straight LARPers, but to say “no actual gay people support the LGB Alliance” is just denying and distorting how awful, exclusionary, and bigoted the queer community can be sometimes.
Being a member of a minority not a magic wand that erases all problematic views. Or inoculates from furthering systems of oppression.
As an intersectional person, this belief is always on my mind whereas it seems like many leftists won’t even think about it for half a second.
The neglect of the clear reality that being an oppressor and being oppressed are not mutually exclusive ends up being the reason why many POC feel out-of-place in majority white marginalized spaces like feminist and LGBTQ+ ones.
I’ve known very oppressive women, POC, LGBTQ+ people, and disabled people. Of course, all of our struggles against oppressive systems like patriarchy, white supremacy, cisheteronormativity, and ableism are of critical importance, but we can still acknowledge that basically giving marginalized people a pass to oppress other marginalized people, even if inadvertently, is just total lib shit.
straight white gays, the ones that think pride is too “flamboyant” and refer to the guy they live with in a single bedroom condo as their “roommate” and let straights say slurs around them to prove they’re one of the good ones.

asexuality is a spectrum but the main commonality is not feeling sexual desire. being aromantic or not is a separate thing although there’s a lot of aro/ace folks around.
Asexual people can enjoy sex. It depends on the person. Demisexual people only feel sexual attraction if it’s connected to emotional attachment. Gray asexuals might have sexual attraction some of the time, but not others.
Purely asexual people who have no sexual attraction may still enjoy sex with a partner on the basis of romantic attachment or the intimacy involved.
There are also uh…a type of person in the aspec (asexual spectrum) known as fictosexuals, who are only sexually attracted to fictional characters or imaginary circumstances. They’re kinda a controversial topic though.
A few decades ago, it was super-common to hear some variation of “bisexuals are just gay people in denial.” And before that, it was “gay men are just pedophiles in denial.” Everything that isn’t cishet gets ridiculed as “not real” when it first enters the public discourse.
Ace is a spectrum. They can hate sex, be indifferent to sex, can be willing to have sex for a partner they know needs it, sometimes even find it enjoyable but not like the be-all-end-all of pleasure like many allos do. Sometimes, they see sex like a hug, nice to have, but not absolutely amazing. And the aromantic spectrum is also a separate thing.
There are some ace people who enjoy sex for other reasons besides sexual pleasure. Or maybe enjoy sexual pleasure outside the context of other people. Essentially it’s a spectrum.

I’m sorry, but queer people like this are unsalvageable fascists and deserve everything they get. Fucking disgusting pigs.
I’ve been thinking about this ‘LGB Alliance’ crap, and I really think its actually ‘SLGB Alliance’. They’re choosing to hitch their wagon to heteros instead of trans people, ace people, and queer people. Its not just gross, its fucking dumb. Who do you think they’re going to come for next? Don’t trust the straights ffs (I’m generalizing, I’m straight myself lol).

A lot gay/lesbians straight up dislike/distrust bisexuals. Not to mention when it comes to trans people.

Not related to this thread at all, but you should write a book or something. I like your thoughts.
I don’t. Traitors are a dime a dozen, and gay men are the straight men of the queer community

5 years ago I would agree with you, but not anymore.

Please don’t call me bro or other masculine stuff, thanks
My bad, it’s become a pretty generic term where I live
This thread is maybe not the place to go ”actually, that’s not a real thing”. No thread is, really.
Casual sex is very common and can be perfectly healthy. Stop it.
Are you sure it isn’t just that you’re demisexual yourself?

I read somewhere that less than ten percent of the members of that “alliance” are actually lesbian, gay, or bi.
