Publisher Square Enix and developer Cattle Call announced turn-baseed RPG Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster for Switch 2. It will launch alongside the platform on June 5.
I love this game and can only recommend it. It’s story does something incredibly interesting and well done - admittedly a lot of people also dislike the game for it.
That being said, I don’t buy remasters of games I already own. With no other JRPG on the horizon, luckily, I get to skip the launch and get a Switch later on - maybe even after a price drop, like the 3DS had one.
I do like the story behind the part people tend to dislike. I always saw it as more of a gameplay/game directing problem. The original Japanese version of the game didn’t even have the encounter slider, which sounds brutal.
By the way, the scenarist for this game was also on the story for the Science Adventure series. The most well-known of these was Steins;Gate, which I discovered through this game and had a great experience with.

I adore Steins;Gate, but I’ve never tried the other Science Adventure games. Would you recommend them, if you’ve tried some others?
I haven’t! It’s on my ever-expanding wishlist.
