Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT 😁!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

It’s the first Saturday I’ve woken up without a hangover in years. Took the pup for a short hike, then deep cleaned my kitchen and made some guac. Overall great day so far. Thanks for letting me post here every day while I’m so early in my journey, it’s been oddly comforting.

Replace it with a good habit.

Whenever I get a craving to drink or smoke weed or eat junk, or whatever I do something like eat a healthy snack, go for a hike, work out, etc. Or some other hobby or activity you enjoy.

Also, I don’t drink it nearly as much now, due to all the sugar, and doing the keto diet, but when I first quit drinking, I replaced it with Kombucha, and was drinking stupid amounts when I’d otherwise be drinking.

One, I love it. But I think the trace amounts of alcohol in it really helped satisfy my cravings, and kinda step therapy down.

But avoid those hard kombuchas if you’re gonna go that route. They actually led me to fall of the wagon a couple times thinking I could handle them, and next thing you know I’m mixing them with tequila… Good luck fam
