Yes. The stable genius is doing everything he can to unite all american trade partners against the US. They don’t really have a choice.

It’s the Americans who ought to worry about it the most.

This is true. The effects aren’t merely economic. Our criminal leadership is a distinct threat to health.

As an European, at this point, I feel the same way about Trump’s statements and threats as I do about those from Putin. I just don’t care about their bullshit anymore

    1. Announce tariffs on everyone
    2. All countries say they’ll respond in kind
    3. Why are you all colluding against me? That’s not fair! I’m the best friend you ever had!

Because that is what toxic people do: they bully and then they act like a victim. We all have a relative, a colleague, a neighbor that does this kind of shit. And what do you do about it? You ignore them, that hurts them the most.

Yup, Carney is playing it well by telling him we’re not even willing to negotiate with the orange blob until he drops the threats against our sovereignty. As long as he keeps his bluster about it then we don’t enter discussions, period. Show us you’re going to act like a responsible adult and we’ll talk.

And this latest tariff crap, once again it’s distraction from whatever other nonsense he’s spewing or trying to hide, in this case it’s the Signal-gate stuff. They’re trying their darnedest to get that out of the news cycle.

“If the European Union works with Canada in order to do economic harm to the USA, large scale Tariffs, far larger than currently planned, will be placed on them both in order to protect the best friend that each of those two countries has ever had!” Mr. Trump wrote.

‘Be my friend or I’ll hurt you’ is literal crazy child shit.

At this point Trump threats are starting to sound like Russia and China.

Sad we’ve gotten to the point the President of the United States can say something, and the general reaction is “yeah yeah, whatever Trailer Trash Trump.”

If EU really wants to hurt the US economy, then they need to start taxing/fining US tech service like Whatsapp, Netflix, Youtube, AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.

What are the non-US alternatives to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.? Boycotting the USA needs to include switching from these, and from Visa, MasterCard, etc. Otherwise even when we switch away from US services, underneath the surface the money and data are still finding their way to the USA.

There are like a thousand different cloud providers. They provide exceptional services, even for better prices. Just google your local VM providers.

For the Visa/Mastercard EU has instant bank wire transfers, all you need is an IBAN.

The hardest switch is everything that is Windows-based IMHO. So much software is written for x86 Windows it’s not even funny.

“In the end, as it is said, one hand cannot clap,” Maros Sefcovic, the trade commissioner for the European Union, has said.

President Trump said in a middle-of-the-night social media post early Thursday that he would come after the European Union and Canada if they banded together to “do economic harm” to America, opening a new front in the unfolding trade war.

“If the European Union works with Canada in order to do economic harm to the USA, large scale Tariffs, far larger than currently planned, will be placed on them both in order to protect the best friend that each of those two countries has ever had!” Mr. Trump wrote.

Mr. Trump’s post creates a new problem for the European Union, which is already trying to respond to his tariffs on steel, aluminum, autos and potentially a broader array of goods and services.

The United States is by far Europe’s most important trading partner, and the prospect of worse trading conditions has left the European Union scrambling to negotiate. But the Trump administration has showed little appetite to strike a deal so far.

“In the end, as it is said, one hand cannot clap,” Maros Sefcovic, the trade commissioner for the European Union, has said.

That has left Europeans seeking to strike new alliances and deepen existing trading relationships. And concerns about President Trump’s shifting stance on military support have driven partners like the European Union and Canada closer together. Canada is already working toward providing industrial support for Europe’s rearmament push.

European Commission officials did not immediately comment on Mr. Trump’s post.
