I see a dead one every year on the side of the road. And then there’s the fat one feasting on field mice by my house. I think they have a good population around these parts. (Might be red tailed hawks though.)
Red-tailed hawks are definitely a lot more common than peregrine falcons. I recommend picking up a pair of binoculars and a field guide so you can tell them apart reliably.
