My little brother is awesome! :D

I got to speak to him, and I love him so much! We talked politics. It was great :D

Based on the excitement, I am assuming this isn’t common. How often do you get to speak to him? What keeps you apart?

We speak every two weeks, when I come to visit. We live in different cities for our respective studies.

Yesterday, we just ended up talking more than usual, and about politics, which made me happy.

Hey that’s nice! I can’t talk politics with anyone in my family… My sister and mom don’t follow it AT ALL and my dad voted for Reagan.

          That’s a shame… I think it’s important to talk about these things!

Me too! Too many people think politics don’t affect them. Glad you get to talk about it with someone you’re close to, that’s a very special thing to have

You’re totally right. I was actually discussing this just yesterday right here on Lemmy, that terrible injustice gains power on the back of the inert and disinterested. Talking politics, getting people—especially your loved ones—interested and talking about politics is, I think, very important.

Having a little brother like mine is, indeed, very cool~ ;D

He’s fluent, but not quite as good as me; I do have a 5-year head-start on learning.

Does he read your daily posts?

He’s never mentioned it, and I’ve never shared them with him. He doesn’t use Lemmy and barely uses social media at all outside of Discord, so I find it very unlikely he would’ve come across this community.
