Summary

Two senior staffers, Charlie Hills and Tré Easton, are leaving Sen. John Fetterman’s office amid his shift toward a more Trump-friendly stance.

Their departures follow other high-profile resignations, including his chief of staff last year.

Fetterman has evolved from a Bernie Sanders supporter to a vocal pro-Israel Democrat and critic of his party’s anti-Trump approach.

He has backed some Trump policies and nominees but opposed others. Despite this shift, he remains a reliable Democratic vote.

Man I read so much cyberpunk in the 90’s and was so excited for the future, even though those books pretty much predict that all the cool future shit will be used to make our lives stupider, I was optimistic back then. But they were absolutely right. The world just continues to March towards dystopian nightmare, and I hate every piece of new technology that I should love. There was a time that having a computer in my pocket and being able to talk to literal robots in my 30’s was an idea that would have excited the fuck out of me. I’ll never forgive capitalism for turning my dreams into nightmares.

I’ll admit that Douglas Adams hit the nail on the head in regards to AI. In the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, AI exists but everyone hates dealing with it because it’s so damned annoying. They avoid it whenever possible, and only interact when forced to do so via things like smart devices that use AI for basic tasks.

For instance, doors are programmed with AI and emphatically love opening and closing for people. In fact, they love their job as a door so much that they have a tendency to loudly and repeatedly thank people for using them, to the point of annoyance.

You’re not allowed to enjoy things in the way that you would like to. All ruined by someone else. Only able to hold on to whatever is left.

The one thing the upper classes have never been able to figure out how to take from us is culture. That’s why they’re obsessed with AI. But the thing is we’ll just kinda change what we like, just like every time they try to create something to control and manipulate us. TV and Radio have tried to dictate taste, but still underground acts have become beloved and have reached audiences through the ages. AI can only mimic what already exists. It cannot mimic anything that doesn’t exist yet. So start making art. Make physical artifacts of your creativity that a machine cannot replicate. Record a poem on a cassette tape. Practice calligraphy. Make some shrinky dinks! Whatever it is that you create by hand, create it by hand. The techniques you use cannot be replicated by a machine without access into physical space.

I voted for the fucker and I am so pissed about it. He seemed cool but then became the biggest disappointment. Fetterman can get fucked.

I mean unless there’s a primary, it’s still the better vote. It’s the hellhole we live in… We have to go with the guy who says he’s going to do good things, then disappoints us and does less than half the good he said, and adds in some bad things.

Or we can go with the guy who says he’s going to do horrific things… and then meets and exceeds all his promises.
