Some of the comments on that article made me realise I’m a bit out of the loop: what makes Asahi linux “woke”?
It is sad though that there is so much drama around linux development. It’s easy for me to say this, but I do think it’s important that there is a switch to a newer language like Rust away from C eventually.
Many of the devs are trans and extreme leftists, always quick to hypocritically attack and censor opinions they don’t like while not understanding why people won’t accept them for who they are. They are desperate to be the center of attention and always play the victim. It’s like the bullied becomes the bully sort of thing. They spend more time arguing over weaponized CoCs and ideological SJW politics instead of writing code. It doesn’t help that many of them self-admittedly suffer from mental health problems.
The downvotes are kind of a proof of what you were talking about. So quick to try to censor your response. Did they even catch the question “what makes it woke?”
What the actual fuck are you on about? This is a technical argument about whether rust should be allowed innthe Linux kernel and the impact of that decision on devs, you absolute troglodyte.
Usually people who explain “woke” in such a manner seem to be the types who are actively hostile to LGBTQ+. There are a few LGBTQ+ people who do make it their entire identity instead of one facet of themselves and I understand how annoying that can be, but at this point I’m a lot less likely to believe “this is someone who turns ‘How is the weather today?’ with a stranger into a trans rights discussion” and more likely to believe “this person just hates trans people and is trying to frame the trans person poorly so I resent the trans person and not them.”
I 100% agree with you, and my apologies if I came off as hateful, I really don’t think I am, but my problems are only with the people who make it their entire identity as you say, they are just exhausting humans in general and I don’t really care how they want to identify or whatever, I would pose the same arguments to people of any persuasion if there was a sizeable number of them doing it.

There have been talks and efforts about bringing Rust to Linux for more than a decade. This is not something that has been swift.

I don’t think there is a “what” - he was just explaining the wokeness.
The explanation came out as aggressive in a way that antagonizes the Asahi maintainers.
