american here. people always say “communism doesn’t work.” but it’s never been tried without US interference afaik. capitalism isn’t working too good for us over here rn, either.
It indeed doesn’t work. Has been tried countless times. Whole eastern europe, North Korea, China and many more countries. It failed every single time because communism is a fundamentally broken system.
And please, don’t try to convince me that communism in the eastern bloc failed due to US.
USian here, Communism works exceptionally well considering constant Imperial siege from the US empire. It’s pretty clear to me that it’s the way forward, without Imperialist influence (like brutal sanctions and bombings) AES countries would have even better metrics, when they already have better metrics compared to Capitalist countries of similar development.
Considering Luxembourg and Switzerland are essentially landlords in country format, I don’t think I’d feel happy knowing I was standing on the blood and sweat of workers in the Global South.
@Cowbee have you actually met anyone who lived in the USSR? bc i have. they hated it there, no freedom of speach, of press or even independant unions
bc the comunist govt controled everything
Most former Soviet citizens preferred Socialism over Capitalism. The dissolution of the USSR killed 7 million people. The Soviets enjoyed a doubling of life expectancy, free, high quality healthcare, education, and childcare, all while having one of the highest rates of economic growth and lowest rates of wealth disparity. The economy was democratized.
Sure. Blackshirts and Reds (specifically the chapters for "the free market goes east) for the devastation and death brought from the destruction and privatization of social services, as well as the immense social benefits. Here are the stats on economic growth:
I can give more sources if you want, but I think those are sufficient for the points I made.

What’re these?
Actually Existing Socialism. Cuba, Vietnam, the PRC, Laos, DPRK, the former USSR, etc.
Yes, those are definitely the best places to live. Especially compared to ugly capitalists states such as luxembourg or switzerland.

So you would be happier getting abused by authoritarian regimes in North Korea, for example? Weird flex but okay.

Regardless of anecdotes, the metrics are factual.
