The message is sent via consequences of not listening to the protest “warning.” You don’t protest with the holes of having no effect on something. Saying we didn’t expect to effect anything on an electoral standpoint- is the equivalent of saying, ”we are boycotting Best Buy by not shopping there, but we don’t expect to hurt their profit margin at all!”
