This is pretty cool. I plan to get a MacBook soon, but am going to wait a few months to see if anything comes out this October.

No problem, I intend to use MacOS, but it’s nice to know that I can flip it over to Linux once it’s no longer getting support from apple.

Well, I think it’s fine for the not-so-near future. They are known to support their hardware for quite a long time. I even suspect that before their support ends, there will be some other groundbreaking new hardware.

Yeah, I plan to get a new macbook soon. I will not put linux on it until I get another computer to replace it. Or if ever my work apps work with linux. I typically keeps computers for at least 6 years before upgrading, so I bet M2 or M3 would be supported by then.

I’ve never heard it being officially supported. Just a lot of people trying to get it to work by figuring out how.

But Apple makes the best hardware. Would be really nice if we could get apple macbooks with Linux support.

I would call it a Apple Maxbook. :)

I follow Lina on mastodon, and it’s just funny to me that cutting edge Linux video driver development is live streamed by a Japanese cat girl vtuber.
