For this edition of Saturday Anime Night, we’re continuing The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2006), the smash-hit anime about the wacky adventures of an eccentric, exuberant schoolgirl and her not-quite-as-boisterous friends. Episodes 13 through 18 tonight.

After that is Nezha (2019), a Chinese animated feature about a child (the eponymous Nezha) who is born from a sacred seed that will help him protect the world from a world-threatening demon. But whoops, the good seed was swapped with an evil pill that causes the kid to grow up as a demon instead. Now he’s a little hellion who beats up everyone. Will he fulfill his destiny anyway? I guess we’ll find out. This is the only feature to date of director Yang Yu; it was, however, an enormous hit in China, currently ranked #4 on their list of highest-grossing films of all time
