First off there is truth to your words. All of these avoidable deaths are deplorable and unacceptable. Regardless of color.
With that said – whether or not you see race doesn’t mean the world does not see race. POC are more than two times likely to die in childbirth compared to white people. It is absolutely fair to bring up race to pull attention to the issue that being a POC means you are more likely to have complications at birth.
Bringing up race does not negate the initial issue, it just means that there are more than one issue at hand here.
