This is really nice wording for spreading bigotry. I’m sure the thousands of Trumpers online who spend their time harassing and posting bigotry and hate speech and calls to violence are just defending their daughters.

I am not talking about hate speech or calls to violence. I am addressing OP’s question about why people seem to have a bigger problem with trans people than with other groups.
If you refuse to put yourself in another person’s shoes and try to understand their point of view, even / especially when they’re point of view is something you disagree with, then you are no different than the intolerant people. You have the same closed mindset as them, you just happen to be on the other side.
Rather than writing off anyone you disagree with as an asshole unworthy of consideration, ask yourself why they believe what they do. What brought them to adopt that position? If you do that, you might realize that a lot more Americans have a lot more in common than you think.
