It just realized, I know so little about the causes of WWI that I couldn’t confidently say Germany was on the wrong side and not simply a side. They were on the wrong side insomuch as they were on the losing side and not on my country’s side. Was there a “right” side in that inter-imperialist war?

There really wasn’t, the right side was opposing the war entirely.
