I want to make this VERY clear. I am extremely progressive, way far left. Kamala Harris is the only sane choice, I’m voting for her. BUT we still have to try and get her to change bad policies like her promise to continue funding genocide. Apparently, that way of thinking will get you kicked out of certain echo chambers ran by corrupt mods like WrenFeathers and JonsJava. The first comment was in response to someone praising Biden like he doesn’t also have Palestinian blood on his hands. And I apparently always have to reiterate that Dildo Tramp is 1000x worse and might actually kill us all by accident or on purpose.

I mean, have you ever heard the meme phrase “you’re not wrong, you’re just an asshole”?

You have a very solid point, but you ruin it by rage baiting and being a jerk by over using inflammatory accusations.

You might get less blowback if you just chill and approach posting and comments from a stance that isn’t essentially a rant.

I get it, shit is frustrating when we’re forced to pick the lesser of two evils (in the political sense, I haven’t seen any actual evil from the democrats up for executive office in my lifetime. But, I’ve also seen only one evil candidate on the republican ticket in that time either. Sociopathic disregard for human rights, yes; evil, no. And there is a difference). But you gotta pick the time and place for rants.

Even here, you’re so deep into hyperbole that it approaches banworthy levels based on that alone

Like, we share the same basic outlook on the need to be realistic about what the democrat platform is, but damn. You went way too hard on the meme C/, and you’re going a little too hard here. And I recognize that this C/ is inherently going to run heavy to venting spleen, so I’m not saying that lightly.

So, to summarize, an open and shut case of attitude policing. Being an asshole (according to some) in the delivery isn’t grounds for a ban.

If being an asshole forces your hand while it breaks the (very public and fair) rules, you’re gonna have a bad time.

        Sorry you’re behaving this way

Depends on the C/. You gotta check the rules, do a vibe check. What works in one place won’t work in others. You went to a meme spot and got all aggro. Of course you got banned. That’s not the place for that kind of “attitude”

You gotta realize, any given C/ is not really public property. It’s a curated space by nature. Whoever sets it up and runs it decides what kind of community they want to build. We don’t have to like their rules, but if we don’t, the answer is to bugger off and start/find one that we do like.

Some mods curate by consensus; the community plays a role in determining what the rules and norms are, but it’s still not the same thing as a purely public space where anything goes.

We don’t want every C/ to allow some aggressive prick coming in and ranting any time they want. If every C/ is like that, shit gets old fast.

Pick your battles, but more importantly, pick your battleground. Don’t start shit on a community that’s pretty clear about not name calling and being a douche. Find one that allows or encourages very aggressive language. There’s plenty of them.

You’re gonna do what you’re gonna do. Just don’t pretend you don’t know you’re being an asshole on purpose to start shit. And don’t be surprised when you end up banned from places where you didn’t bother to at least do a vibe check beforehand
