In a video, Matt Nelson said he would set himself ablaze "to stop supplying Israel with the money and weapons it uses to imprison and murder innocent Palestinians" and "to pressure Israel to end the genocide in Gaza."
I’m saying killing yourself over US actions isn’t a sane move.
And I’m saying that no product of this barking mad oblate spheroid is qualified to make that assessment. But dismissing him as insane is a great way to not have to treat his rebuke to humanity as the just condemnation it is.
I’m encouraging others not to waste their lives, when they can accomplish far more by staying alive and engaging.
But if you want to torch yourself and refuse to get professional help, I can’t stop you. Just don’t encourage others to emulate your disordered thinking.
If the way of your protests is suicide then yes I’m going to “attack” that protest. Bazillion other ways to protest that don’t involve literally killing yourself.
