    This shit is exactly why I’ve been firmly avoiding anything “smart”. If I can’t run an OS/firmware on it that I compiled myself and have full control I don’t trust it.

    A phenomenon I’ve noticed many a time, and I’m not a tinfoil hat wearing type. This is why anything smart gets removed when I want a serious talk.
