Not so sure if you can see those from digne, maybe the lure proper. I am pretty sure this is the same plant that i saw on plateau valensole, and a google search tells me it would be salvia sclarea. Anyway thank you all, definitely some salvia.
It is in Provence, France
That looks like the mountains surrounding Digne les Bains… They culture Salvia Officinalis there but that does not seem to be it. It looks like it belongs to the genus lamiacaea…
