Proverbs 28:27

Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.

versus

Matthew 6:6

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

But they can’t be expected to actually pay attention to their own scripture.
