Kamala Harris has launched her campaign for the White House, after PresidentĀ Joe Biden stepped aside Sunday under pressure from party leaders.

The vice president has Bidenā€™s endorsement, and is unchallenged as yet for the Democratic nomination, which will be formally decided at the Aug. 19 convention in Chicago.

ā€œI am honored to have the Presidentā€™s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination,ā€ Harris said in a statement. ā€œI will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Partyā€”and unite our nationā€”to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda. We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win.ā€

In her statement, the vice president paid tribute to Bidenā€™s ā€œextraordinary leadership,ā€ saying he had achieved more in one term than many presidents do in two.

    She can.

Want to keep going like this? Or do you maybe want to have a real conversation and express a point beyond fatalism?

In 2008, Barack Obama won. In 2016, Hillary Clinton got the popular vote, even after a continuous character assassination campaign of 25 years.

Yes, there are racist and sexist Democrats. But in both years, the clear majority of Democrats overcame the racist and sexist ones.

If youā€™re not willing to actually cough up some evidence for why Kamala Harris canā€™t win, then youā€™re just being fatalistic and cynical for no good reason.

            • You: Racism and sexism exist!

            • Me: Yes, but Democrats have managed to overcome both in recent elections.

            • You: Wellā€¦ Kamala Harris just sucks! For reasons!

Okay, filing this conversation away with other wastes of time.
