Modern civics suffered from a range of issues that led to a good amount of them being retired. Ever increasing environmental standards and economic decisions impacted modern sedans reliability hard.

Nah, they arent as reliable as a v8. And civics kinda suck to drive, so people tend to toss them.
Given the mileage I would assume an old civic; back when they had double-wishbone front suspension still…they drove like a dream back then
