That seemed a bit ridiculous, so I checked. You’re right, except it’s not just revenue, it’s profit. They make about $900k profit every minute.

Just be racist to the cashier when purchasing the avocado and in their absolute distress, walk out with it without paying.

Not sure if that’d be $2.40 or $4.80 but might be the cheaper way to fuel the addiction.

Yeah, without paying it, so you save like 10 dollars by not paying for your shit, and then only have to pay 4.80 back in fines.

Idk what labour laws they broke, but companies are always getting away with shit like this, or even if they’re penalised, they’re still left profiting from the crime.

Hell I live in the Nordics with arguably one of the best labour protections in the world and like over half the jobs I’ve done have had the companies try to fuck me over with the compensation. From private people to large companies. Overtime, mandated breaks, whatever it may be.

Fuck capitalism. (Love market economies though.)

That is absolutely insane. Completely bonkers. They’re making more money in one day than most businesses have made over the course of the founder’s entire life, throughout the entire history of the world.

It is still insufficient, but it’s also disingenuous to use the profit of their global operations to say the fine is a small cost of doing business to their California warehouses.

Does the fine have to be paid from profits made in California? If not I don’t see why this is relevant, other than semantics.

If it costs a company more to do something than not do it:

          Then they won’t do it.

To make a truly genuine argument you would need to use their profit from abuse in warehouses in California, where they were fined.
