I wouldn’t call it small, while it’s certainly not the GT World Challenge or anything, Nascar’s sponsorship revenues alone are something like 760 Million USD, so they likely make a few billions in revenue from tickets, merchandise, and broadcasting rights combined.

Not just local cars. Toyota, Honda, and SAAb all had stock cars, or in SAAb’s case, trucks.
