This is the main reason why the Italian Renaissance occurred.
People growing wealthy enough to have the time and money to create art (or at the very least hire artists) to create art and come up with new ideas.
If you have a world full of people who are just making ends meet all the time … ideas, art and anything new just stagnates as people spend more time surviving instead of using their free time to come up with new things.

A day where I really don’t have “external things” in mind, and where I just “do” for me.
