Technically the Chief never said that at all. Philippe Lazzarini terminated 9 of the 13 accused employees immediately upon the dossier and called for transparent independent investigation.

The countries that cut funding started with the USA and then Canada, Australia, Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, Japan, Austria and Romania followed suit, totaling a loss of $667.2 Million USD out of the $1.17 Billion USD operating budget. However, more than half of that amount was the USA alone at $343.9 M or just under 30% of their total budget.

The requested investigations have not taken place and the allegations of Netanyahu’s regime that 190 workers under UNRWA employment were militants, the sort of people that hand out food and water for charity some of which were public school teachers, are totally uncorroborated. Maybe the evidence will show itself, it honestly makes sense for Hamas to try to corrupt a charity organization when they themselves started out as a charity arm of the Muslim Brotherhood that once controlled Egypt, but as of right now we know nothing. It’s probably even more likely that Netanyahu is full of shit for simultaneously having all of this intel about the attack and also being completely blindsided by it.
