    There is no such thing as an independent economy without a population of hundreds of millions of highly educated individuals. Countries specialize so they can produce what they’re good at for cheaper than if one country made a little of everything.

    That said, Diapers and Gasoline are terrible examples to use. The companies behind those can charge as high as they want and are notorious for doing so.

        Milei wants to adopt USD as the national currency, so you’re definitely 100% wrong with that statement.

        Historically, most conservative parties of Argentina were installed by the USA. Notably, the 1976 Coup had them meeting directly with Henry Kissinger, and there are lots of conversations about former POTUS Trump potentially meddling in the election that installed Milei.

          You missed the part where I said it’s what his supporters hope for. I’m not saying he will actually do it or even try to do it. People there think the country is controlled by the USA and want this to change. They also see adopting USD as a quick way to lower inflation. Yes, it’s not realistic but people don’t know that so they still voted for him.
