Once you realize that politicians will always lie in order to win votes, or at least intentionally misrepresent the likelihood of them achieving any of the things they promise, you’ll probably be angry and disappointed for a while, but after that, you’ll be free from the illusion that you’ll ever be able to solve any of your problems by voting.

If you want to improve life for yourself and those around you, it’s far more effective to figure out what you can change than it is to hope for any politician to change anything for you. Sometimes they will, but most of the times they’ll just leave you hanging.
