Venezuelans seeking asylum in the US who are already living in the country will be allowed to work legally under new rules announced by the Biden administration.

About 472,000 people will be eligible for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for a period of 18 months.

It follows calls by Democrats to expand work access for newly-arrived migrants.

US cities have been grappling with large numbers fleeing economic and political turmoil in Venezuela.

People must have been living in the US on or before 31 July to be eligible for temporary deportation relief and access to work permits under TPS. If granted, they will be allowed to work while they wait for an asylum determination to be made.

Why would you advocate against something you could profit from?

      Because you’re a racist and a xenophobe.

The whole reason that they’re in the cities care is because they can’t work. This solves that problem by allowing them to work. What part of that do you not get?

PS: and posting a link to a FOX news source only makes you look worse.

Yes, it makes perfect sense. In the words of Juicy J “people do strange things for that change, yeah money will do”. Fear is powerful, they say what needs to be said to remain in power. Hell grandma Boebert is on stage yelling about being squeaky clean, but having the full service 15 year old theater experience in Beetlejuice. Then flat out lied about it despite being on tape.

If you have a full workforce of people that can’t strike, labor laws don’t apply, they can’t tell anyone about sexual assaults, injuries, do you think the politicians who are getting cash care? Do you think those kids getting busted working in factories were america kids or undocumented kids?
