Hey Frosty, how do you find this music? Tidal-made radios?

This is tricky to answer without sounding like an ad for Tidal. DISCLAIMER: Use whatever means of consumption you enjoy. Buy it, steal it, stream it, I don’t care. Fuck capitalism.

That said- Usually I have something in mind when I start a session. Not always a specific song, sometimes just a band, genre, etc. I’ll do a search for it on Tidal and check out the suggestions. Stuff like the related artists, playlists containing that type of music, and the Tidal generated radio stations for the song or artist, etc. Very seldom do I take the most direct route to what the original idea was. Once I start listening I don’t usually stay in the same groove for too long either. Discovering new artists and sounds are part of the adventure and I like to keep it varied. Tidal also has a feature that generates a suggested playlist based on the current song that I use a ton and really like.

I’m also in a bunch of random groups that share music. I’m always swapping music with friends and there are a couple groups on SXC that post music from all over the world that inspires some of the posts here as well. The inspiration can come from anywhere and I try not to limit myself to stuff that’s familiar. It’s also really easy to tee off on something posted to this community and take it down my own rabbit hole.

        Thanks.

Typically I just follow artists and sometimes listen to new album releases. I maintain my own music library, so.

I guess this community lets me discover some stuff sometimes.
