The word is Parenthood, idk what’s up with the lemmy.world “illegal picture scanner”, but it would reject my upload if it had any words relating to kids, apparently, up to and including “parenthood”

PSA: If you don’t know, coin cells are very easy for toddlers to swallow and very deadly in a matter of hours when stomach acid starts breaching it and mixing with the battery chemistry if not promptly treated.

Hooray censorship further destroying the way we communicate online! I don’t blame OP, I blame their instance.

I don’t consider what the scanner is actually filtering for to be “censorship”, and considering the problems Lemmy was having with that type of content last year ehhh it’s ok.

But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be adjusted, maybe to include a check that there’s actually a human in the image to begin with rather than just words LMAO

I’m with you on this. There is no evidence here to suggest or infer intent to block speech to meet any agenda. An overly censitive CSAM filter seems to be the most likely, and a perfectly reasonable, if not annoying, explanation.

Let’s keep accusation of censorship for the cases where speech appears to be blocked intentionally, i.e. for the purposes of manipulating a narrative.
