I dunno why are you so hostile to the other person and their points. The truth is that most people, especially non-technical ones, want three things out of any social media platform and here they are in order:
It must be popular. If they can’t find their friends / celebrities / favorite brands on there they are not interested in the platform.
It must be easy to use. If they have to jump through any unnecessary, as judged by them not you, hoops then they are not interested in the platform.
It must have oodles of content they like and agree with. If they are presented with too much, as judged by them not you, content that they don’t like or agree with then they are not interested in the platform.
If a platform doesn’t meet all three of those criteria then it will not achieve mainstream success. Like it or not Mastadon, which I am on, is failing all three of those and will almost certainly remain a niche platform just like Lemmy.
