72·2 天前If there is an emergency and they only thing preventing you from preventing human harm is that you don’t have a license, then fucking drive anyway. It doesn’t matter if it is legal or not.
In an emergency, you don’t need a license to drive. Poor people don’t really rent a car for a weekend jaunt.
Regardless of the methodology, the figure is meaningless in isolation. What’s meaningful about the study is the comparison to other professions using the same methodology.

3·2 天前I think the distinction between data acquisition and data application is important. Consider the parallel of photography; you are legally and ethically entitled to take a photo of anything that you can see from public (ie, you can “scrape” it). But that doesn’t mean that you can do anything you want with those photos. Distinguishing them makes the scraping part a lot less muddy.
Yes. Piracy in the sense of stealing from ships in international waters is different from piracy in the sense of copyright infringement. Thanks for that.
Are you saying that the mere action of scraping is fair use, or that absolutely anything you do with the data you scrape is also fair use?

5·3 天前You can bring your own containers. They will tare them (ie weigh them and mark them with their mass) and then you can fill them as much or little as you like. On Sundays, you get an extra discount for bringing your own containers.
If you mean the waste of the lives of vulnerable individuals, yes, this bothers me tremendously to the point where it’s sometimes difficult to function. I have trouble getting worked up about plastic cups next to actual atrocity against intelligent creatures.
