Printed using hatchbox wood pla. I had a few issues with standoffs but a little glue fix those right up. I’m very happy with the way it turned out. Just waiting on the release of flippy drive to call it complete.

Wow that’s super cool, it doesn’t look like wood. I’ve never even heard of wood PLA. Thanks for sharing! TIL
I would have expected it to look like those benches made from mixing sawdust and plastic/resin. Like pycrete, but with plastic instead of ice. You can’t even tell this has wood in it.
Yeah that seems weird. I have some wood PLA and it very much looks (and sounds) like wood especially once you smooth it out and paint/stain it. Pretty much seems like a printable version of wood-filler
Just when I think I’ve seen everything cool that a 3d printer could do.
Nice! You could try hitting it with varnish or stain! Makes the wood look much more convincing.
Edit:
Here’s an example of what it can look like
Edit 2 hahah: Just saw someone else had mentioned it and that you’ve already experimented with it in your original post in 3DPrinting
Yep, maybe I’ll revisit it again after trying it on some more smaller prints. Or just experiment with another jewel.
Wood pla!? Wow 3d printing continues to amaze me and that look fantastic.
