Benny Morris is an self-admitted Zionist who was in the IDF for 33 years and was present at the Siege of Beirut in an artillery unit. I only know the name because Norman Finkelstein absolutely hates Benny Morris and considers him a fraud.

In case of Ukraine war Russia is not deliberately targeting civilians, the military to civilian death ratio being like 40 or 50 to 1 speaks by itself, in this aspect it’s actually one of the most restrained big military operations in entire modern era.
I don’t think it’s the case that Russia is doing a deliberate cultural or ethnic genocide against Ukrainian people themselves. This is a conflict over territory, NATO encirclement, and self-determination for people in the Donbas.
