I have a femboy friend who really enjoys blahaj plushies, is not trans but looks like they is trans at first glance.
Edit: something’s wrong with the pronouns and verb conjugation here, because I used a compound sentence containing a compound verb (3 verbs, ‘really enjoys’, ‘is’, and ‘is’) but the subject was the same in all three independent clauses, but in the third independent clause I used the pronoun ‘they’ to describe the subject, but the subject is still singular, so do I use ‘is’ or ‘are’ for the third verb when I conjugate ‘to be’?
“they are” is correct, even for a single person.
You would say “they are”, just like you say “you are” even if you’re just talking to one person.
You’re right, “they is” just doesn’t really work.
