They probably assumed this is like a theme park or something and not an actual city that people actually live in year round. Cities having nice, people friendly places away from cars? Who’s ever heard of that?
Ok, if nobody is going to say it I’ll do it: public transportation + walkable cities!

As an American, I’m unfamiliar with your weird European traditions.
Amazing how Americans gush over how charming and cozy these European scenes are, and also exclaim about the lack of parking, yet never seem to grasp the connection…
Not a lot of Americans.
Seems like a big market, not a city.
Also a good thing because I know nobody who can leave a “Christkindlmarkt” sober. Those things are basically a huge mulled wine festival and it’s great, but don’t want anyone driving home from these.
