They should scrap uniforms entirely imo

Less branded stuff is more sustainable too, it can be passed on. I got a bunch of uniforms at the 2nd hand uniform shop.

@Aussieiuszko My son’s school tops are white. White. Who thought white was a good idea for Year 7 boys? Has to go in a bucket of whatever that pink bottle is at end of each day.
And whilst high quality, they are only available from one supplier at stupid prices.
Thankfully they’re just starting a 3 year swap over to dark blue.

To OP: I think Uniforms are important factor to reduce discrimination based on class.

Just becauae you come from a poor family doesnt mean you should stick out from the crowd. Uniforms help equalize that playing field.

From my time in school, everyone knew who the poorer families wore despite our uniforms.

Plus uniforms cost more, poorer families cannot afford them.

I’d argue survivorship bias might skew your perception here.

I’m all for cheaper uniforms though.

      My friend, that is bullsheeet.

They absolutely know when you get from the donation shop, there are gradients of shoes and i s2g some even get their uniforms tailored.

Cunts will always find a way to cunt.

As a parent, uniforms are the best. They’re durable, don’t need to be ironed and they’re all the fucken same. Without them we’d have arguments over “where is my favourite t-shirt”, and we’d spend a lot more on clothes because they would be wrecked more often.

As a student I liked uniforms too. I never had to decide what to wear and I never got teased for what I wore.

They should do it for the top half too. Just have set styles and colours so parents can buy whatever is affordable
