The problem with downticket votes- people have been voting more progressive for ages; it that doesn’t translate to the national party which is mostly centrist…. Because they play games with their bullshit primaries.
Plenty of downticket races that will have a more positive impact than a “protest vote” that will ultimately only make your life worse in the end.
