Tech workers at the New York Times plan to strike for half a day on Monday, accusing the publisher of attempting to unilaterally force them back to the office.
I work in a regulatory position and most offices are still 80% wfh or more (our office is in the more category). We were doing a recruiting fair the other week and some middle manager from some other office had us change our presentation because it said 80% wfh. She said “our office is in 100% twice a week, we love and really value our office culture.”
There was a pregnant pause where nobody on the call said anything and I chimed in and said “I’m sure you love it”. This office has more unfilled positions than any other office and wonders why…
I’m still at home 4 our of 5 days and I’m not planning on stopping that anytime soon. Office is a horrible place to work.
